I visited the house of a wehlaty poet (I know, oxymoron; he got wehlaty doing other things, but is quite well known as a poet) last year, and though there was much to admire a large garage converted into a library, gorgeous views from the hilltop the thing I most liked was his small octagonal cottage (like a glass-enclosed gazebo handmade by a local carpenter), with just a desk, a chair, and a woodstove. No electricity, a view of woods. He had a library and office for his various other kinds of work, but that was the place where he went to write poems.
