I've been struggling the last few weeks to reeviw an ARC for a spy novel. The area I'm having the most trouble is summarizing the story. The story is so complex that I had trouble following it while I was reading it, and honestly, I still haven't figured out how it actually solved the problem presented by the story.A question to ponder though might be what the definition of simple is. I think some people might think of it as walking the reader through everything in an obvious way like they were two years old and not a story that buries itself in complexity. I like stories with a lot of plot, which means there's more story there, but I also shouldn't have to work to follow the story either.
